It seems like there has been some tensions between Washington and Israel with this and also with Israel's recent sale to Russia of drones.

It would, though, be very ill-advised for Israel to attack Iran's nuclear facilities. For one they are so numerous and so scattered that this would not be militarily feasible, secondly it would give hardliners in Iran a huge boost both at home and on the Arab street, it would undermine the peace process with Syria, it could trigger a regional war with huge disruptions to oil supplies, and it would likely convince Iran it needed a deterrent more, and help to expedite WMD research, much like the attack on Iraq's nuclear facilities die.

Regional war...no way. Just as much of the world silently urged Israel to destroy Hamas [including much of the Arab/Muslim world], the Sunni world would again be[silently] pleased if Iran's nuke wetdreams were tamed.
