Capturing the MidEast in short soundbites: poignant reflections by people who understand the complexities of the Middle East. My philosophy is: "less is more." You won't agree with everything that's here, but I'm confident you will find it interesting! Excepting the titles, my own comments are minimal. Instead I rely on news sources to string together what I hope is an interesting, politically challenging, non-partisan, non-ideological narrative.

That was a good clip. I am sure the actual debate was even better and much more interesting. This is a trend we need to see though, in Islamic countries, not just in the EU or USA.
I enjoyed it too...while I am discomforted with universities giving voice to the Islamist radicals, seeing moderate Muslims take on radicals is indeed compelling.
I prefer the frame that Dr. Daniel Pipes takes...basically, he states that Islam is developing...it's development is no small concern for the West. While it may be a dark period for them, Muslims can also rescue their faith.
