I don't think it is becoming more acceptable, but the free world does respect freedom of speech. Nevertheless, it is still illegal to deny the holocaust in countris that took part, and hate speech followed by inciteful or violent acts carry harder penalties in much of the WEST. Also, expecting the UN to censure Iran, say, for calling for Israel to wiped off the face of the Earth is the right sentiment, but they do not seem to have the balls to support their members so vehemently (I guess they feel sticks and stones...) International pressure does, however, seem to be working on Iran and North Korea lately, so this is an issue in progress.
