'Truce without Schalit was a mistake'
Minister Shaul Mofaz spoke out against the Gaza cease-fire, claiming the agreement with Hamas should not have been made without securing the release of captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit.
Speaking to high school students in Raman Gan, Mofaz said that "the 'calm,' which was achieved months ago, was a mistake without Gilad Schalit's release. That's the reason I voted against it."

Capturing the MidEast in short soundbites: poignant reflections by people who understand the complexities of the Middle East. My philosophy is: "less is more." You won't agree with everything that's here, but I'm confident you will find it interesting! Excepting the titles, my own comments are minimal. Instead I rely on news sources to string together what I hope is an interesting, politically challenging, non-partisan, non-ideological narrative.

True. How many prisoners has Israel been releasing on a weekly basis these days, yet cannot secure his release, cease fire and all. An ongoing tragedy, especially if Israel believes he is still alive.
He's probably alive. It would be an interesting strategy for Israel to go into Gaza in force stating that they won't leave until:
*Gilad is free
*no missiles are fired
Then adopting a "no missile policy" would be prudent. All this reading makes me think i'm a military strategist.
Unfortunately, the political will for that appears lacking among current Israeli leadership.
