Muslim Cleric Issues Anti-Terror Fatwa
Pakistan-born Muslim scholar Dr. Muhammad Tahir ul-Qadri [pictured] has issued a 600-page fatwa in London which condemned terrorists as the enemies of Islam.
He said, "They can't claim that their suicide bombings are martyrdom operations and that they become the heroes of the Muslim Umma (community), no, they become heroes of hellfire....There is no place for any martyrdom and their act is never, ever to be considered Jihad."
"Terrorism is terrorism, violence is violence and it has no place in Islamic teaching and no justification can be provided for it, or any kind of excuses or ifs or buts." Dr. Qadri is the founder of the global Minhaj-ul-Quran movement.

I hope there are more like him who will speak out. I've never understood why "suicide" bombings are called that. They should be called "homicide" or "murder" since that's what they cause.
I found this posting most pleasing too. I've found a number of similarly brave souls. May G*d bless them in these endeavors.
There have been a few, but too few and too far between. It is brave for him to take this outspoken view, but I guess his own values and morality demand it.
How refeshing that we can now say that moderate Islam is finding it's expression in the overt real world. Even the term Muslim-Zionist is making an appearance.
